Mazda claims the new CX-7 offers a combination of sports car handling combined with the practicality of a sports utility vehicle.

The carmaker says its Mazda CX-7 takes its Zoom-Zoom philosophy beyond sports cars and applies that same spirit and performance to a model which appeals to a very different audience- thus taking Mazda into a new sector of the marketplace.

Mazda adds that its CX-7 is a ground-breaking new sports crossover vehicle that delivers sports car-style performance and handling, along with sports utility comfort and practicality all in one highly desirable package. They boast that this is a great new Mazda and they anticipate very strong demand.

The 258bhp turbocharged, all-wheel drive Mazda CX-7 will be available here as a single, highly-specified model. Standard equipment is expected to include leather seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, xenon headlights, climate control air conditioning, cruise control, and a bespoke BOSE?® Premium audio system with 6-CD autochanger and nine speakers.

Each Mazda CX-7 is mechanically identical, with a 2.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine producing up to 380Nm of torque at just 3000rpm, a six-speed manual transmission and Mazdas unique active torque-cplit 4WD system.
