Dodge Stratus was not an improvement 1989

Date:May 30, 2007, 4:58 pm
Name, Location:John, Maine
Vehicle:Dodge Stratus
Year:1989
Modification:Dodge Spirit
General comments:I read a review where the Dodge Stratus was said to be better than the Spirit which it replaced. The only good thing I can say about the Stratus is that is costs less to build than the Spirit because it has fewer stampings. It inherited all the fragility of the older car especially the head gaskets that tend to leak. The crab-forward design gives the ugly and left over k-kar suspension gives the stratus the wide turning radius of the spirit and the lack of comfort of a honda civic. Chrysler should have developed a better car to replace the spirit. (Maybe in a parallel universe everyone is driving a 'Dodge Hornet' and still talks about how Toyota failed when they tried to make the Camry as good as the 2000 Dodge Hornet.)
What things have gone wrong with the car:Radiator, Freeze Plugs, Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Head Gasket, Cracked Engine Block,
Previous car:none
