2005 Toyota Mark X noise in the engine when just start then go away problems

| Problems: | There's a knocking sound in the engine when just start but it go away with in 2secand but if the engine is hot u will not hear it on till it is cold |

| I have the same problem (2007 model). Seems to be a thing with Mark X because an online forum from Singapore talks about it. What I do is 1) make sure engine oil level is ok 2) turn on ignition for about 10-15 secs before starting. I seldom hear the noise when I do this. My engine runs smooth. |

| i own a 08 model Mark X, been hearing the noise when i start especially in the morning, in two months ago my car started to overheat. i was told the A/C compressor clutch went bad which caused the belt to friction.the compressor was replaced with a new one, to my surprise the alternator was not charging the battery. i replaced it with a new one, again it was not charging the battery. my car is down up to now.. |
