Halo,

I too own a Grande Mark II and discovered a few things on the same. On average at optimal performance the car consumes like 10km/litre. Check with a mechanic who has the right equipment if the EFI plugs are in good condition, they can contribute heavily to more fuel loss if in bad shape. The car has to be serviced every 3000 km or less covered for performance to remain good. Without this the air filter gets clogged with dust contributing to more fuel consumption. The engine oil too has to be thin for efficiency. The salty and dusty conditions here too contribute to poor performance if not serviced regularly!
