1994 Toyota Hilux Surf overheating problems

| General comments: | my mechanic said that theres a possibility of a cracked cylinder head? | |
| Problems: | my surf overheats everytime i turn on the A/C.. the mechanic said to replace the head gasket. After replacing it with a new head gasket, a new problem appears which is much worst.. the coolant spiting out and temperature rises quickly, its a bubbly coolant, oil leaking out in the head gasket.. I dont have an experience with this problem before i went to the shop.. please reply.. thank you | |

| that mechanic is not a real mechanic.. try new one.. download hilux surf owner's manual/repair guide |

| got the same problems, chances are the cylinder head was cracked/damaged already. Hilux has history of overheating, and replacing gaskets don't solve it, gaskets replacement in the phil is usually rip off imitations of original toyota gaskets. check out the cylinder head, the problems is there. |

| I have the same problem too..I replaced water pump and cylinder head gasket but got the same problem.Did you have the solution? |

| for overheating and you have check that your cooling system is working properly then the last thing to do is change your cylinder head and have a major over haul of your engine though this could be expensive but less expensive than buying a new or second hand 4x4; for automic transmission problems change to manual. You only have to have a good mechanic and knows how to convert. My surf gave me sleepless nights until i did all of the above things, now she runs like pussy cat!---good luck to all toyota surf owners. |

| Had heating problems with my 2000 diesel surf. I changed the fan clutch and that solved the problem. |
