1997 Toyota Carina jerking on normal operating temperature problems

General comments:Suspect the temperature at which the thermoswitch is operating at is too high.

I need a thermoswitch with a lower temperature switching point.
Problems:After reaching normal operating temperature, the car starts jerking below 60km/hr. The fan switches automatically. If I disconnect the thermswitch and the fan run continuously thereby cooling the engine and temperature drops, the engine runs smoothly. I installed a new thermswitch but the problem remains.
