Location:South Africa, Eastern Cape, Uitenhage
Vehicle:Opel Kadett
Year:1995
Problems:I took my car to Mechanic to change oil pump, bearings, oil filter, fuel filter and fuel pump. The next morning when I started my car the revs went to 2000refs and came down to 1000refs, than it went down under 1000refs and car engine die, started again and did the same. Start it again and hold my foot on petrol for about 1min, car idle at 1000refs. It's only when car is cold it gives that problem. I changed the Coolant switch (Blue Switch - Coolant Temperature Sensor), but still the same when started in the morning. Cleaned the Throttle body also. Can you maybe assist what the problem could be. I even changed plugs. I bought a new Idling Control Valve and it was beter, but still idling low in morning when cold. I took out the new Idling Control Valve and looked like the pin was stucked, did not want to go back. Returned the Valve. Could it be the Idling control Valve? I put back my old one.

Hi Shaun,i am driving the same car same model so what I suggest you do is to check and replace the crank shaft gear (behind the fan belt pulley)as I know for a fact that I went through the same problem hopefully you may come right.Good luck
