Problems:I have a 1999 opel astra 16v 1.6 ecotec engine and my engine has been overhauled and it does not want to start, the mechanic says the timing has been set correctly but still it does not want to start. The other mechanic says it is a problem between the computer box and the key. Can you help?

COULD BE THE BATTERY I HAVE THE 2001 1.8CSE. WAS STANDING A WHILE AND BATTERY DIED. HAD IT CHARGED AND WAS OK FOR A WHILE. THEN RECENTLY IT ONLY MAKES A CLICK SOUND NOTHING MORE. FOUND THE BATTERY DOESNT KEEP AMPS. SO THE ALTERNATOR DOESNT CHARGE THE BATTERY SO TH CELLS BENT. BATTERY INDICATOR SAID ITS FINE BUT IT ISNT. TRY ANOTHER BATTERY AND START THE CAR IF IT DOES ITS TH BATTERY IF NOT. TAKE IT FOR DIAGNOSTICS.

I have the same problem. The car was working fine, then last night as I was parking the car switched off. It won't start it makes a click sound and it won't even jump start.

I tried another battery, but it still gives that click sound.

I don't know what to do. Help.

I have a 2004 astra 1.8 sport ecotec engine.
My also just died the other day after parking. It just wudnt start , has all the dash board lights and so on but just dead when you turn the key. Doesn't crank , just a clicking sound from under the bonnet.
Battery went dead so charged it.after charging battery and putting back in vehicle , now has no electrical power at all. Fully charged battery but everything dead , no lights , no dash lights , no hooter , nothing. Does anyone know what to do?

Sorry!
Maybe check battery's two terminal wires, for either a loose connection or for a wire inside its plastic sheath having become so corroded as to have broken.

Good luck!
