2001 Nissan Bluebird Sylphy sticks in first gear problems

Report a Problem

Date:April 20, 2010, 4:03 pm
Name:Errol J. Williams
Location:Jamaica, Saint Catherine, Portmore
Vehicle:Nissan Bluebird Sylphy
Year:2001
Problems:My car is a GT10 2.0L CVT Automatic with Tiptronic. Whenever I have to drive over rough spots on the road and slow down for a period of time my Sylphy sticks in low gear (1st)and does not change back when I try to speed up. I have to park it for about a hour and let it cool down for it to work normally. This does not happen if the road is smooth and I am driving fast. The CVT transmission oil that I used is the recommended one and I change this at the sheduled times. The speed-o-meter has stopped working and so too is the key switch which opens the door. I took the car to a transmission specialist but he could not help, he suspect the problem is electrical. What could be causing the car to stick in low gear? On one seem to be sure, do you have a suggestion?
