thats a worrisome problem, given the effect it might have on your engine overall. it may lead to a burnt out gasket(s), warped valves, etc. the important thing is to fix it before you attempt to drive off again. i suggest you check the basics i.e. coolant levels, oil level, whether the fan deploys as necessary. also, if you happened to change the timing belt recently, the problem may be that it wasn't replaced correctly, affecting the timing hence overheating.if all these are in order, please see a mechanic. a good one. av had mine (a 2001) for six months now, and i should say that i am very impressed. the car has character. good luck fixing it. cheers.

i have had bluebirds for the last 23 years i find them reliable.currently i have 2004 model.i find the above reply very insightful .also check the radiator to ensure that is not blocked in case you dont use coolant.check on the water pump and belts whether they are tight.

I am having overheating problems with my 2003 Nissan Bluebird Sylphy. The mechanic took out the thermostat and it stopped overheating for two days then overheated again. He checked the radiator and found holes in it.We had it repaired and it's still overheating. What can be the problem?

Hi. I have a 2002 Nissan bluebird sylphy. It's not overheating. But the Cooling fans not turning on. When the engine is hot. Not sure if I need to replace the thermostat?or the water pump? Does anyone have the same problem
