Arrow Mazda 2 - new powertrain

Mazda 2 - new powertrain

Mazda Motor Ireland has announced prices and specification details of the eagerly awaited new Mazda CX-7, SUV Sports Crossover on www.mazda.ie . With a starting price of ?‚¬49,995, this exciting new entrant combines high performance power and handling, sport design, with SUV functionality and comfort.

Powered by the 2.3 litre DISI turbo engine, as featured in the Mazda Performance Series (MPS) range, it offers great performance and exceptional sports car handling you would expect from Mazda. In addition the Active Torque Split 4WD System, as utilised in the Mazda6 MPS, ensures the Mazda CX-7 crossover delivers levels of Zoom-Zoom fun without the handling compromise found in many traditional SUV's.

With its broad, powerful shoulders, coupe-like roofline and imposing 18" alloy wheels, the new Mazda CX-7 boldly signals its sporting intent. Beneath the sweeping bonnet the engine delivers 258ps and 380Nm of torque. An impressive power through slick-shifting 6-speed manual transmission to either the front or all four wheels provides a confidence-inspiring drive that is sure to entertain.

David McGonigle, Managing Director of Mazda Motor Ireland commented: "The Mazda CX-7 is the ideal choice for today's urban lifestyle. It blends the sure-footed attributes of an SUV with the rewarding performance of a sports car, offering a compelling alternative for those with a spirit for adventure."

The intelligent 4-wheel drive system, utilising Mazda's Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control, means you can always expect exceptional handling and grip. It achieves a fine balance between a sporty, responsive drive and handling stability in snowy, wet or other challenging road conditions.

Extremely high levels of standard specification including a BOSE?® premium audio system, leather seats, cruise control and climate control air-conditioning ensure up to five passengers can travel in complete comfort and style.

Premium levels of specification are intertwined in the sports car-inspired interior, which further reinforces the CX-7's driving dynamics. The three spoke Mazda MX-5 inspired steering wheel, combined with the leather gear knob positioned to allow quicker-shift gear changes add up to the sheer driving exhilaration for which Mazda is renowned.

Being a Sports Crossover vehicle, the Mazda CX-7 is more adaptable than your average SUV. The Karakuri Seating System (Japanese word for 'surprise) allows you to transform the boot and rear passenger area into one large flat load surface area with one simple flick of a lever.

Following its successful launch in both North America and Japan, where more than 46,000 units have been sold, Mazda??™s European R & D Centre (MRE), based in Oberusel, near Frankfurt, Germany, assessed and then tuned the car to match European driving conditions. The Mazda CX-7's coming to Irish showrooms have been specifically engineered and refined to meet the demands of European drivers.

The latest Zoom-Zoom offering from Mazda is due to hit Irish shores in July with vehicles being rolled out across all dealers from September onwards.
