Subaru Impreza sales up 22%; Subaru Tribeca up 15%

CHERRY HILL, NJ - November 2, 2007: Subaru of America, Inc. reported October sales of 14,979 units. Sales of the all-new 2008 Subaru Impreza posted an October record up 22 percent over the same period last year, while the redesigned Subaru Tribeca also posted a double digit gain.

"Despite challenging market conditions, enthusiasm for the new 2008 Subaru models remains strong," said Tim Colbeck, vice president of sales, Subaru of America, Inc. "In addition to strong consumer demand, the new products have been receiving numerous awards and accolades and we hope to see this momentum continue to build through the end of the year."

Subaru Tribeca sales were up 15 percent with 1,468 units in October. Sales of the Subaru Legacy line totaled 6,050 units, with the Subaru Outback accounting for 4,268 units of that model line total. Subaru Forester recorded an October total of 3,554 units, while the Subaru Impreza was up 22 percent with an October record of 3,903 units for the month. The discontinued Subaru Baja also recorded 4 units in October.

In October, the 2008 Subaru Tribeca was named best resale value in the crossover segment by Automotive Lease Guide (ALG). ALG ranks brands and vehicles predicted to retain the highest percentage of their original price after a conventional three-year lease term. Also in October, the leading independent consumer evaluation magazine announced that Subaru was only one of two manufacturers to have its entire product lineup recommended by the organization.
